recording of part of a benefit concert
held on December 4, 2004 in the Sports
Hall in Ostrava – Poruba. In the course
of this exciting five-hour musical
marathon, “Hi, Ostrava!”, appearances
were made by practically all the stars
of the Czech musical scene whose roots
lie in the Ostrava region:
The entire evening was accompanied with
the commentary and the songs of Jaromír
Nohavica. All profits from the concert
were dedicated to the training of guide
dogs for the blind.

singer-songwriter Karel Kryl, in April
1995, a unique concert was held in the
courtyard of Helfštýn Castle, literally
one of a kind – on that evening, Jaromír
Nohavica for the first time exclusively
sang songs written by Kryl (a similar
project was repeated only once,
commemorating the tenth anniversary of
Karel Kryl’s death and held in the
Ostrava club “Parník” [Steamboat] as a
live radio broadcast).
